History Matters: Mount Desert Island's High School Consolidation, with Raney Bench

A presentation from the Mount Desert Island Historical Society

"Explore the history of how individual towns on Maine's Mount Desert Island first united to create a regional high school. Do you wonder how big changes happen in small communities? How did islanders overcome obstacles, engage in discussions, and ultimately decide to take big risks and open a new high school? MDI Historical Society Director Raney Bench shares insights into how our small community navigated the obstacles and risks of that significant change."

Community Outreach

Members of the RPC will be at many sporting and community events over the next few months. Stop by their table and ask questions. We look forward to talking with you about reorganization and its benefits to students.
