Cerberus - An Snapmaker Artisan

We have new equipment in the Makerspace thanks to Lou Jones-Rodrigues, our district Tech Lead and a Maine Department of Education grant.

The Bambu Lab A1 Mini Combo is a small 3D printer that creates 3D prints in up to 4 different colors with amazing quality.  It is also the fastest printer we have in the Makerspace now.

The second new device is a Snapmaker Artisan 3-in1 3D printer.  This converts between a dual head 3d filament printer (like the Bambu, but with two colors it can print it), a laser engraver/cutter, and a CNC mill.  Because of all of the 3D printers we already have in the lab though, this will be used mostly for laser engraving/cutting and CNC milling materials.

Later this year some students will be creating silicone chocolate molds of their own chocolates bars/candy designs.  They will print them first on a 3D printer, then make a silicone mold from the 3D print, and finally use the molds to fill with melted chocolate.  It should be a great project with a tasty ending.
